Daylilies

There isn’t much love for the common orange daylily. It’s the stuff of uninspired suburban hell strips and last one left on the table at plant swaps. But when placed sparingly into a layered garden rather than left to grow en masse, it provides a distinctive pop of July color. I like how these play off a large swath of Blue Lyme grass. A bonus, I never have to water either of these plants.
